Role description

Within the framework of assistance to its subsidiary Kansai Airport (40% VINCI share), VINCI Airports looks for a Financial Controller VIE. Kansai Airports operates, through concession agreement, 3 airports in Kansai Region:Kansai International Airport (KIX),Itami Airport (ITM),
Kobe Airport (UKB).

The VIE will hierarchically report to Deputy CFO (VINCI expatriate, based in OSAKA - Japan), and operationally to Finance Direction of VINCI Airports (RUEIL – France). 

Duties & responsibilities

Within the framework of the technical service agreement (TSA), main functions of the VIE will be:

  • Supports KANSAI Airports for VINCI Airports and VINCI Group reporting needs:

-Generally contributes to qualitative reporting and communication from KAP Finance department to VINCI Airports HQ Finance and VINCI Group Finance contacts
-Lead action plans so as to constantly improve quality and efficiency of reporting
-Monthly follow-up of operational performance indicators requested by VINCI Airports (“Dashboard” reporting): reports and keeps tracks of operational, commercial and financial metrics such as detail of revenue, passengers traffic mix, retail performance, operational costs
-Explains on a monthly basis the financial statements and reports submitted to the HQ office
-Monthly financial and operational controlling reporting to VINCI Airports ("Cockpit" internal controlling reporting tool : traffic indicators, staff, P&L)
-Yearly update of Operating Financial model
-Quarterly Financial accounting reporting to VINCI Group according to IFRS standards
-VINCI Group reporting coordination: Off-balance sheet items (half-year), derivatives (quarterly), HM Provision (quarterly) and other IFRS norms

  • Supports KANSAI Airports regarding annual benchmark survey and related topics as business Partner:

-Generally contributes to enhance business partnership actions, tools and methodologies through interaction with KAP finance and procurement teams and other departments
-Lead preparation of benchmark survey for VINCI Airports HQ: within the framework of the yearly VINCI Airports network benchmark study conducted by HQ Financial team, prepares all necessary metrics to analyze the data. Explain possible deviations, irregularities or substantial changes to the budgetary guidelines, financial targets and / or organizational objectives. Needs to interact with other operational departments to understand organization, process, suppliers ‘framework and contracts to ensure consistence of figures reported.
-Follow-up benchmark results and analysis, support OPEX contracts renewals and other action plans to be reflected in future budgets
-Follow-up implementation of analysis of EBITDA by airport and activities
-Provide comparison between actual datas and models
-Support ad-hoc missions and analysis: business opportunities, CAPEX decision, decision-making models





- Advanced understanding of accounting; concession framework is a plus

- Self-motivated, self-driven, ability to take challenges

- Creative, curious and pro-active;

- Good communications skills in full Japanese environment

- Languages:

  • Business level in English
  • Japanese is plus (not mandatory; wish to learn Japanese)
